The YoungHort initiative, which has been set up to promote and showcase young people in the industry and also to help encourage more young people to choose a career in horticulture, is to host their first event on Friday 7 March at the RHS Gardens Wisley.
The event, which will be aimed at anyone under the age of 25 or who is currently studying horticulture, will be a day of talks by some of horticultures biggest names such as James Wong, Paul Hervey-Brookes, Michael Perry.
It will also feature an ideas session on how to improve the image of horticulture amongst young people and there will also be the opportunity for people to network with representatives from different sectors of horticulture.
Jack Shilley, director of YoungHort, said: "I am thrilled with how much support that we have had for the conference day in March, and it will clearly show to the rest of the industry and UK the talent that young horticulturist have and how brilliant the industry really is."
If you would like more information about the day, or would like to be involved please contact Jack Shilley on 07598277490, or visit the YoungHort website.
