James Alexander Sinclair looks back affectionately on what he hails as potentially "the garden makeover of the decade?".
"The gardens have always been the throbbing heart of Trentham and St Modwen decided that they needed to restore them sensitively but with a contemporary edge. They already had Stuart-Smith and Oudolf on board, but they also needed a good head gardener to oversee the transformation. Step forward Michael Walker, who came to Trentham from Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire."
