Trees root barriers and foundations

Roots of trees is actually very interesting issue as it is hiding- underground - most people do not know much about- till the roots effect something else.... or in a rare case when transplanting trees. In General there is a ratio between the size of canopy and the roots, So Different species of trees got different ratio. So stopping the roots from growing will will keep the tree smaller- like the principles in bonsai.Trees root and foundationTrees roots are can be very powerful - pushing and damaging foundations, In many cases we can see cracked walls and cracked drives where there are trees planted too near.As you can see in photo it is very likely in lawns that the roots are shallow, that can not just aesthetic, but a hazards for children and could damage the lawn mowers.Tree roots in drainIn few cases that I saw how how tree roots damaged the drain /blocked the drain. that was very expensive to sort and in fact - the job was done in one case every 5 years. The drain pipes are usually built from sections and the roots searching for watter and air are getting inside as tiny roots spreading inside blocking the drain and sometimes even cracking it.How to stop root tree from causing damage ?By using a root barrier , ideally when planting trees near foundation, but actually most people use when the damage start to prevent it from being bigger.Tree Root barrier UKroot barriers (called sometimes: root controller, root control) can be made in different ways , in the past in some places walled were build in the ground- far easier and cheaper is using plastic root barrier. How deep are the roots? the roots needs amount of air and moisture so in sandy but wet areas will be dipper than heavy clay soil- that got less air in. In general about 1 metre deep root barrier is enough, that will direct the roots to grow down and not to the sides.Tree Root barrier UKwhere to find root barrierDeep root barrier (root control)made from recycled plastic to your lengthIn the last few weeks many landscaper enjoyed their discount on orders of root control /root barriers. To see more root barriersor call direct 01630673860

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "

"Disagree there!  I maintain a site with a couple of of large laurel hedges and one cut in July suffices and keeps it looking nice.  Agree.... looks nasty immediately after cutting but quickly perks up so you don't notice the cut leaves.  Pretty much…"
