Public art is hugely important and especially anything that turns the landscape green as this project will do in a drab part of London how can that be vanity? Art is what makes us different and in public spaces we can all share it.
I am a massive fan of public art we have huge amounts of sculptures and public art here in West Yorkshire from Henry Moores (when they are not getting nicked and melted down)to the new sculptures in Trinity centre in Leeds just brilliant to see them all whilst ambling.
My issue is same old same old problem with the big statement projects mostly all concentrated in London where only 12.5% of the population live what about the rest of us?
£30 Million is peanuts the cost of one Eurofighter £220 Million brings it into perspective.
