I know, I should be working instead of writing a blog. Still it's a good way to warm up for a day in my rather chilly studio. I have heating up there, but I am mindful of the lecky bill, and anyway, too much warmth would draw out the chitting potatoes on the bookshelf way too early.
I went to see a garden in Burnham on Sea needing an overhaul since a new conservatory has messed up the existing garden. An odd shaped corner plot, constraints of sea breezes, clay soil, half shade, half sun, not much budget, but lovely clients, so all is possible! Must get on with the quote today.
I keep telling myself to crack off these smallish jobs before the spring rush, but will anyone be rushing this year? Time will tell. Luckily my local landscapers pass on clients with design issues, or work would be very thin at the moment.
Must do a site visit later this week to see how a vegetable garden project is progressing. I'll phone the landscaper to see how far along it is. My client has downsized from an allotment and is feeling bereft. Eight deepbeds and wall trained fruit should keep him happy, but I know he'll want to expand later! Another lovely client! Do lovely people garden, or does gardening turn you into a lovely person?
