It is worth going to see if any of your equipment has been found by the police as I don't believe you can count on the Police to bother to try and trace the stolen equipment back to the owners! We recently had 2 Stihl 020 chainsaws and an Echo Long Reach Chainsaw so will be attending, not that we got an invite direct, despite being a victim within the last six months. Sorry to sound bitter but when it comes to thefts, through experience, it seems the police lack the inclination to do any investigatory work. Make sure you take receipts and photos incase you come across any of your stuff.

Many thanks for posting this.
I had over £6k of hand tools stolen in the early hours of January 24th.
Sadly I have little to no faith with the police contacting me ever again!
I even noticed that a similar crime was committed a few days later and within the area being reported in the local newspaper and that they recovered a number of stolen items from possible other break-ins. I contacted the local police and was advised in very strong terms that the incident in question had nothing to do with my equipment and that they will contact me should the serial numbers or other identification marks match. Funny but when I originally spoke to them about the 2nd incident they wasn't aware of any other incidents within the last few weeks / local area - doesn't give you much confidence!!
I also believe that as it is a business being impacted, they don't put the same resources / effect to general household incidents. Their view is that you should be insured however you try claiming!!
Thank you for posting this. We contacted PC Yolanda yesterday and we were able to email her the serial numbers of items that were stolen from us at the beginning of January. We too have been disapointed by the police and the way they have done very little to help. I guess they care about the 'bigger' crimes. Did you attend the station yesterday and find your missing items?
