Gary Webb tastes Landscape Juice!

I've been far too slow to get into & really make the best of Landscape Juice, but will hopefully touch base (as people say) more often from now onwards. If you're interested in learning more about me & my work (& I'm not selling anything!) you'll find plenty on my blogger posts, on the link below, or if you can suggest how I can make more use of LJ, please point me in right direction - if only there were more hours in the day to really use the internet!!

Quick intro: Basically, I'm a Grounds Manager for a museum & art gallery, based in south Warwickshire. A charitable trust known as Compton Verney, the collections are housed in a Robert Adam mansion, surrounded by 120 acres of Capability Brown parkland, pretty impressive if I do say so myself! comptonverney.org.uk

Happy Gardening one & all.

Gary

Hi, Gary. Must admit, like you, I don't feel I make the most of all on offer at LJ. One just discovers things gradually. Just thought I'd say hallo because Compton Verney has been on my list of places to visit for a bit. Haven't managed it yet, though. Am waiting for a must-see exhibition - can't stand Alfred Wallis (emperor's new clothes, I reckon) and not grabbed by the others for this year either.

    Hi Gary

There's many tangible and intangible elements of LJN.

The obvious benefits are the ability to post a question and get a swift answer and of course you can help others too but the intangibles can be just as valuable.

Linking to your site as you've done have SEO benefits and its value is not immediately apparent. There's also the ability to forge relationships with other members and again...the benefit of this can be passive to start with but has the potential to move on to sharing leads or getting work as well handing opportunities for work to others too.

Finding a supplier is also much easier through LJN but there's a bigger picture too and the recent activity, where Etesia hasgot involvedwith LJN and opted to work directly with their end user through the site, is just one aspect of how the 'juice' has its benefits.

Regular activity is key to keeping your details in focus but also remember that any blog or forum post you start are potential adverts for you and your services too.

You can set up an RSS feed straight to your profile page from your blog. I've done it on my page, if you want a look. It's one of the apps.

  • Many thanks for comments, much appreciated. There's a bit there for me to chew on, so many thanks.
