COO David Sarti to retire from Marshalls board

Marshalls have announced that David Sarti, Chief Operating Officer, will retire from the Board on 31 December 2014.

David Sarti joined Marshalls in March 2001 and was appointed to the Board in January 2004. He also holds an external non-executive position with a distribution and retail group.

Martyn Coffey, Chief Executive, said on behalf of the Board:

"David's contribution to the Company, particularly through the challenging market conditions prevailing in recent years, has been invaluable. I am pleased that he will remain with us as a Director until the end of the next financial year with a mandate to focus on specific performance improvement initiatives. Other members of the current management team will assume the balance of operational responsibilities, reporting to me."

Marshalls is expected to issue its next Interim Management Statement on 12 November 2013.
