"Acetic acid works brilliantly, even in the colder weather (as long as it's dry). Get some 30% stuff of eBay, don't bother with Algon - it's very expensive."
"Really wouldn't bother with "trough grown" plants + I doubt you'll get 5' ones in a trough that you could even lift plus a nightmare to plant. Just buy individual plants. Laurels are also very quick to establish and grow so even if you buy them…"
"Thanks for your comments, just to clarify, it's the instant hedges I'm asking about here, these are trough grown plants, often 3 plants in 1m long units. "
"We use and sell Canycom bruch cutters. These can also be fitted with a mulch blade for a finer finish. Made in Japan, shaft driven so full power reaches the blades. Also have a tool-less blade change, with the blades being made from folded steel…"
"We planted 2mt plus Laurels on a 30 mt run, they were massive plants in 60 lt pots and a 2 man lift. From memory as it was a few years ago we planted them touching which was approx 1 per metre, they needed a very large deep hole to accomodate the…"
"£250 per metre?? That can't be right. Laurels are really cheap hedging plants..... there's a place near me that sells 4' ones for about £15 and 2 per metre should be fine though 3 would fill in quicker. . "
"My Honda 537 has just done its first season, it's so light and fast! My gearbox was broken from the factory so was replaced after only a week or so. When they make so many million mowers always going to have a few lemons. Never had a problem since…"
"I'm guessing you had the dose wrong with mmc-pro I've used it before to have success with it and hardsurfaces stayed clear for months......... in fact I sprayed mossy fence with it 9 years ago and its still completely clear. "
Hi Gareth,
Thank you for comment on wrought iron gate. This is being shown at the North Somerset show tomorrow alongside b'smithing demos and competitions. Nathan always pleased when I report feedback. He's a bit of a caveman and hates computers but he is considering getting to grips with the internet soon as even his business contacts are preferring to communicate or show info online. Hope to get him on here at that point.
Good luck on LJ
Helen
