Yankee McNugget???

Ah the joy of discovery.... the leader of the Scottish Liberal Party is called Tavish Scott... Poor chap, school must've been a nightmare.... though, I've got to ask why can't we have a US presidential candidate called Yankee McNugget (from a Northern state obviously)....What surprises me - genuinely - is not so much the name, but that we haven't yet had this on 'Have I Got News for You' or 'The Vote NOW Show' or 'The News Quiz' or indeed, even in 'Private Eye'....

  • Not Quite sure how you relate Tavish Scott to Yankee McNugget; Tavish, while not the most common name, is a scottish name. Scott is common throughout the UK. Yankee is a slang term for an American from particular geographical locations (so not a name you'd give a person at all) and McNugget? Do I need to go into detail how that is not relevant?
I'm quite sure he got through school just fine, it being a Scottish school in Scotland and him having a Scottish name in Scotland.
Maybe you could turn your attention to Wyn Jones, leader od Plaid Cymru next? with him having a Welsh name and being from Wales and all....
  • Read that first response and really wished I was on the Tory front bench... Dave would have sent me off on an 'Apology Tour' a la Boris, and I could have caught up with all my Edinburgh buddies.... then hung out with the family in New Jersey.....

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "
