Water absorbing concrete.
Topmix Permeable has invented a new type or concrete that can absorb 4,000 litres of water in 60 seconds, its been designed to reduce damage where flash flooding and stuff occurs. It works by having a permeable layer on the surface and can soak up on average 600 litres per minute per meter squared.
Below this is another layer which feeds the water back into the city or towns water system to be re used again, this type of concrete has been around for years but it has never been designed to be able to withstand heavy traffic and vehicles, but Topmix permeable has done it. The design will also reduce tarmac hear on hot days, but one problem that has developed is freezing conditions, this will lead to the whole system not being able to work so this invention can only be used in places where the temperature will not drop to low.
This concrete would benefit:
Race tracks
Carparks
Business Parks
Areas prone to flash flooding.
