Tuscany Green Passion

Tuscany green passion

There are some exciting marketing developments from Pistoia based Giorgio Tesi Vivai who are one of the oldest growers in the famous Pistoia region of Italy. Their proud traditions have become the cornerstone of their profile and their passion for plants and the importance they place on their green production policy is as strong as ever.  The development  of the Tuscany green passion logo  is a perfect example of this. This is designed as a trademark for customers who want to customize their plants, using personalised  labels with barcodes. Other promotional aspects of the client’s plants can be produced by the Giorgio Tesi’s graphic designers.

Also introduced is Nature Quality, an innovative system for the very first time on the nursery panorama. This is a new unique system that guarantees both you and your customers that the purchased plant has been selected and graded by a certificated and well experienced company.  On the back of the label there are two numerical codes (green code, quality check ) and a telephone number.

If you send an sms with the green code to the indicated telephone number, you will receive in few seconds a sms reply in your own language  with the quality check and a short text that we can personalise for you. Details of this procedure are on www.naturequality.it

Environmental production policy

Giorgio Tesi Vivai continue to build on their ‘Green Certificate’ award made at this time last year.

General Director Fabrizio Tesi, is proud of the achievement of this 14001 certificate which is the Environmental Management System that assures the nursery conforms to its stated environmental production policy. “We are the most dedicated people in respecting the nurseries environment. As owners and managers we are the ones who spend our time within the 380 hectares which spans the nursery.”  As the first Nursery in Italy to  achieve this, Giorgio Tesi have consolidated their position as one of the leading growers in Europe.

Both existing and new clients from the U.K. are welcome to visit this Pistoia based nursery where they will be made most welcome. There is now a private bar and restaurant plus apartments on site to provide a ‘home from home’ for Planteria Managers and Landscape Professionals.   Their top quality plant material can be viewed in the most relaxing environment. All the above provide a clear relationship between the company, the environment and the market itself.

  • Are you representing Tesi now in the UK?

Visited their Nursery many times with clients.  Very nice people to deal with, Francesca is great.

  • HI. Thanks for your prompt reply!  In respect of Trade PR yes!  I will let Fran know of your comment.

    Thanks Phil

  • Thanks Phil

Will be happy to deal with Tesi again one day in the future, although there are many Nurseries in Pistoia.

Sadly,  we will not do business where a UK Agent is involved, as direct is better for us and more importanly, our customers.

"I wouldn't cut a hedge without one. Anything over 6' you should get with 3 adjustable legs, otherwise they can be unstable if you lean - but positioned correctly they are the only way.

"Yes had that scenario where you can't reach a fiddly bit no matter what ladder and have to balance on the apex of a shed roof or do best job painstakingly with a long reach pole pruner . "

"I'm very wary of these tripod ladders, I took a life changing fall from the top of a 12ft tripod. Now I only use them myself with great care. The issue is that they are very unstable at the top if you lean to either side, and they go with no…"

"Done a couple of second cuts already this last week would you believe. It's almost as if the grass has a memory of last year's drought and is making up for it now plenty of moisture available"

"the tripods are good but in some scenarios the wide base and the fact the 3rd leg has to be placed some distance away from the step part for stability makes this large foot print impractical eg when cutting hedge behind a shed or greenhouse with…"

"Never tried these but always thought they look a bit of a pain to cart about. Looking at the picture, seems you're quite away from the hedge so you have to reach out more?   I just use ordinary aluminium extension ladders that you can easily adjust…"

"Tripods are better than any other ladder that's a fact. You can cut hedges that are lower than the ladder but it is more awkward, I have a 6ft amd a 12 foot been using both for the last 15yrs and haven't come stuck yet. Believe me once you've had…"
