Sustainable Seeds and Science at the DLF Stand at GroundsFest 2025

Tetraploid Technology

As we move into autumn renovations, a significant focus will be on the benefits of DLF’s 4turf® tetraploid technology.

This technology features larger seeds with improved genetic vigor, allowing for fast germination and establishment even as temperatures drop.

4turf® exhibits enhanced tolerance to stresses such as cold, drought, and salt, along with superior resistance to diseases.

It has excelled in many European disease trials, showing exceptional resistance to red thread, brown patch, fusarium, and grey leaf spot.

An Excellent Choice in Cooler Seasons

The overall improvement in sward quality makes these seeds an excellent choice for overseeding in cooler seasons, delivering quality surfaces while reducing input and labour costs.

4turf® is included in several popular autumn mixtures for sports turf, such as MM Tetrasport and J 4Turf 100 from the MM and Johnsons Sports Seed ranges.

Another key feature will be wildflowers and their increasing significance in land and amenity turf management.

A Bright Display of Colour

These plants provide essential food and habitat for pollinators and wildlife. DLF's Pro Flora native origin wildflower range consists of 17 different formulations that are continually are designed to enhance color, biodiversity, and interest across diverse environments.

For a striking display, visitors may consider mixtures from the Colour Boost collection, which combines both wildflower and garden flowering species that provide a bright display of colour that will also attract pollinators and insects.

The DLF technical team will be available throughout the two-day event to offer technical advice and answer questions.

"I haven't use liquid iron but do use soluble iron sulphate, takes a wee bit more mixing as it's a powder but I find it goes further and is cheaper than the liquid, I get mine from agrigem."
