As with most small businesses we often discount our own skills and knowledge, for day to day stuff.

We recently joined Dormen, as a business mentoring body, for on-site mentoring of our business, and us.

We have learnt, not to downplay our skills in Horticultural, ( as we have sometimes done so) , but to shout about them.

Steve, come the 1st September 2012 has worked in Horticulture for 32 years.  Steve can identify most Trees and Shrubs by sight, and is a walking plant encylopedia, says Tina.

Tina ran her own successful Garden Design business for 6 years, before switching codes to growing and selling plants.

Did you know?

That the South West Landscape Centre (T&S Plants) offers our customers free visits for plant consultations and identifications?

Did you know?

That the South West Landscape Centre currently supplies plants to over 90 Landscapers and Garden Designers in the South and West.

Did you know?

That the South West Landscape Centre supplied all plants, 6,000+, to the Athletes Village, Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset.

So, if you want to talk plants, or want some free help from the plant experts, www.southwestlandscapecentre.co.uk is the place to go.

"Plus it doesn't matter if we all know plants are better value. I'd make the point of this to the customer but if they want trough grown at the extra cost that's their choice I'd just do it"

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "

"Disagree there!  I maintain a site with a couple of of large laurel hedges and one cut in July suffices and keeps it looking nice.  Agree.... looks nasty immediately after cutting but quickly perks up so you don't notice the cut leaves.  Pretty much…"
