Sherriff Amenity Appoint New Amenity Specialist

Sherriff Amenity has announced the appointment of new amenity specialist James Wright, who will be responsible for covering the areas of Lancashire, South Cumbria and West Yorkshire for the company.

James brings with him a wealth of industry experience after joining from Rigby Taylor, where he spent seven years as a sales co-coordinator. During his time at Rigby Taylor, James was responsible for a number of administrative duties including inputting orders, preparing quotes and general customer service.

His previous role offered James a fantastic insight into the industry but when the opportunity arose to join Sherriff Amenity, he felt it was a move in the right direction.

“Personally I felt that the position of amenity specialist would offer me a more active role where I could have more of an influence with regards to sales. After speaking to Kenny Archibald, northern regional manager for Sherriff Amenity, I was convinced that this would be a really good and pro-active role for me,” he said.

Sherriff Amenity’s extensive range of quality products are perfectly complimented by the first class customer service provided by the company’s amenity specialists. Renowned for their technical knowledge, which is consistently enriched through industry leading training programmes, Sherriff’s amenity specialists can ensure that you are always getting the best results from your turf.

As a keen sports fan, James is relishing the opportunity of visiting a number of sporting venues on a daily basis and assisting end users.
“I’m really enthusiastic about this role and am looking forward to working with the likes of golf clubs, football clubs and cricket clubs – all in all I just love being outside.

“I plan on making lots of calls and hopefully I will build new relationships. I’m particularly interested in finding out what our customers are trying to achieve and having the chance to play an integral part in their turf projects.

“Sherriff Amenity has a fantastic team in place, which I’m looking forward to being a part of. I am already familiar with the products and I hope I can hit the ground running,” he said.

"I start the clock when my tools are in the garden and I'm ready to go currently. I've always kept my round hyper-local. But I think I need to have a rethink. I currently think if I earn £700 a week it's been a really good week. I don't pay any tax…"

"I can't stand driveways. I just tell them that I'm an organic gardener and don't use chemicals. If they want to use weed killer they can do it themselves."

Lee Davis replied to Lee Davis's discussion New mower time!
"Can I ask those with HRX mowers what height settings they use? They he reason I ask is that the 476 only goes down to 25mm whereas the 537 goes to 19mm. It's a bit disappointing. Thought I'd settled on the 476 HY but 25 mm doesn't sound particularly…"

"I've found that once a month treatment of glyphosate is more than sufficient for most places. is chikara/ pistol suitable for gravel? I thought it was only for railway ballast or am I being daft?"

"We also use Pistol on our hard surfaces. 30ml per litre seems to kill pretty much everything and then keeps the weeds down afterwards too as it's residual. "
