NETWORK Rail have halted their plans to carry out a mass tree felling operation along Formby railway line after failing to consult residents on the proposals.
As reported in the Champion last week (September 24) residents living along College Avenue reacted angrily to news that a number of trees were to be cut down by Network Rail without carrying out a full consultation with residents in the area beforehand.
Now the residents fears have been eased after Network Rail issued a statement to residents claiming they will put their plans on hold and carry out a full consultation with residents before making a decision.
