Everris UK has announced the appointment of Phil Collinson as its new Technical Area Sales Manager for the North West.

From technical advice and product recommendations to tailored nutritional programmes; turf professionals who use Everris products receive a dedicated service from their Technical Area Sales Manager, which is invaluable to helping them achieve all of their turf goals.

Phil joins Everris with a wealth of relevant experience. Between 2003 and 2012 Phil was Head Groundsman at Spotland Stadium, home to Rochdale AFC and Rochdale Hornets. The highlight of his time there was nominated for League 1 Groundsman of the year for the 2011/12 season.

During his time at Spotland, he also volunteered to maintain the ground of his local cricket club Norden C.C and also the local bowling green; providing him with valuable experience in a variety of sports.

Phil has spent the last three years working for Fleet Line Markers, one of the industry’s leading line marking paint manufacturers, originally as an Area Sales Manager before progressing to the position of Senior Sales Manager. The job involved seeing customers and keeping them up to date with any advances in products and liaising with distributors to ensure a good working relationship.

“I’ve always loved playing sports and being outdoors in general so it seemed like a natural industry to be part of and it’s all I’ve ever known.

“Having been in the industry for many years I obviously knew about Everris and their well respected standing within it. I don’t think opportunities come round very often to join such companies so when the chance presented itself, it was a no brainer as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully I can add to the team already present and customers can benefit from my experience,” he said.

Phil, who holds an NVQ Level 2 in Sportsturf and has Pesticides Application certificates (PA) 1, 2 and 6, believes that his passion for all things turf will benefit him in his new role.
“I’m particularly looking forward to getting out there, meeting people, talking turf, and making a positive impact.

“I’m hoping I can bring my natural enthusiasm for sportsturf to the role. If I can help both end users and dealers in working towards better and higher standards in turf then I’ll be a happy man.”

"It's interesting though how many customers see any creature within their garden territory as an intruder .
Fear of the unknown perhaps ?
Must admit though the unfortunate  label of slow worm does them no favours . "

"to be fair, if they were unaware of what Slow Worms are, from the name alone, they might sound like a pest, like some outdoor type of tape worm"
