I've noticed quite a few posts on Landscape Juice about setting up websites, and why we need to bother with blogging (or not) - let alone Twitter, Facebook and other social networking.Hopefully this video might might be of interest

This video was put together as part of our new interactive online training program at Oxford College of Garden Design. By following these simple steps you can significantly increase your web presence. We explain why its important to blog, Twitter, and use social media like Facebook, Landscape Juice and LinkedIn.According to Duncan Heather, Principal of the College, addressing the post grad design students: "This is probably the most important video tutorial you will watch this year!" • Hi Elspeth, thanks for the masterclass. Perfect timing, I'd say, to convince me I'm doing the right thing. All this marketing though takes me but a couple of decades to previous careers which I thought I had escaped from.

Haha - glad it's useful. Know what you mean about thinking you had escaped from it ;-) But I think the internet is more exciting than straight marketing... more organic perhaps?! :o) I also see marketing as a process - which getting that bit right frees us up to be more creative and do the innovative fun stuff better
  • Yes, i agree but theres only a certain amount of hours in the day especially when the weather gets better. All work and no play.... and you know what happens next.

Oh yes agree. Work and play should be the same thing really :o)
  • Hi Elspeth - a very informative masterclass. Where do you get the demographic information for the social networks from?
  • PRO Supplier
Hi Keith - delighted that you found it informative. Demographics from iCrossing and Inside Facebook
  • Thank you very much - a little bit of light reading there!
  • Hi Elspeth, Very interesting. This info will be extremely useful when I revamp my site soon, thanks.

"It's interesting though how many customers see any creature within their garden territory as an intruder .
Fear of the unknown perhaps ?
Must admit though the unfortunate  label of slow worm does them no favours . "
