Town hall bosses have found one way to help with council cuts - let the grass grow longer.
Trafford council chiefs say they could save £44,000 next year by doing a little less mowing.
It will go a little way to the total of £21m they have to save. The town hall’s budget proposals were controversial last year, with cuts to frontline services including libraries and social care as council bosses looked to save £21.5m.
The Tory council has cut £96m since 2010 - and faces cuts of £33m in the next two years.
