Landscape gardener turned children's author aims to rake in book deal

A landscape gardener who writes and illustrates his own children’s books during the winter is close to landing a publishing deal.

David Walker started writing stories for his son Latham, 14, and for the past 10 years he has sent his ideas to publishers and literary agents.

He has now achieved his dream after Hogs Back Books, in Guildford, showed interest in publishing his book Moon Zoo and he was asked to illustrate two new titles by other authors.
