The November issue of the Horticultural Trades Association Market Update reveals that garden centre sales for September are up 15% on last year following a dry and warm month, which has encouraged consumers to continue to invest in their gardens.
The latest figures from the HTA Garden Retail Monitor show that garden retail sales are currently ahead by 10% (to the end of September) compared with 2013.
This follows a rainy August where the national benchmark was at 2%. Figures are vastly improved from June 2014 when the average benchmark for national sales was -8% and gradually rose to 1% in July 2014.
The figures highlight that the warm September had a positive influence on garden centre sales.
