How to measure for a garden gate?

When measuring for a garden gate, always allow for the gate width, posts or wall plates, and the required clearance between the gate and posts. As a general rule of thumb, set posts at gate height + 600mm in ground and allow for 50mm clearance beneath the gate. Read more here.
