Jason Cooper, Head Greenkeeper at Leamington & Country Golf Club, has chosen to purchase a SISIS Rotorake TM1000 scarifier and SISIS Variseeder 1300 tractor mounted seeder to help maintain the club’s highly commended greens and tees.

Formed in 1908, Leamington & Country Golf Club is regarded as one of Warwickshire’s finest courses and Jason’s decision to purchase the two SISIS machines adds a touch of quality which the reputable course demands.

The Rotorake TM1000, widely used to maintain greens and approaches as well as cricket pitches, lawns and gardens, is a tractor mounted heavy duty scarifier and linear aerator. It is a finely tuned machine which removes and controls thatch on fine and other quality turf. Also included is a collector box and floating unit which follows ground contours and its contra-rotating reel throws debris forward ensuring a clean, consistent groove resulting in an excellent finish when the time comes to scarify.

“We wanted the best product on the market for our scarifying needs and the TM1000 suited us down to the ground,” said Jason. “Our previous scarifier just wasn’t doing the job we wanted it to do. The TM1000 has an excellent collection facility and fits perfectly on the back of our tractor. We have seen a significant progression since using it.

“The best feature on the TM1000 is the hydraulic tip – it just makes the job so much quicker. No one is lifting heavy wet boxes; you just go over to it, flick a switch, off it goes and you’re on to your next load.”

Equally important to the maintenance of Leamington & Country Golf Club is the SISIS Variseeder 1300, which is a versatile easy-to-use tractor mounted seeder with a variable seeding rate. It has an extremely fast work rate, enables overseeding to be carried out without taking the greens out of play and ensures a flawless sowing and seeding process.

“What I particularly like about the Variseeder is how easy it is to change the spindles. It’s also incredibly simple to use and easy to maintain while extremely reliable,” said Jason.

Jason has been using SISIS products for the past 15 years and has no plans on switching brands anytime soon.

“I’ve never had any breakdowns and no major issues. I’m more than happy to keep buying their kit.”
