Garden Design London: A week in the life of a London Based Garden Design and Build Company: Week 37 2011

  • Our garden design and build in Willesden Green, London is almost done. Just some artificial lawn and decking stain to be done.
  • A productive day was had on Wednesday with our students on the ’3D Google Sketchup and 2D Layout Drawing Course’ .  Katrina delved into Sketchup and next week the students will be introduced to accompanying programme Layout.
  • More additions have been made for our postal garden design in Wales.  The client requires extensive 3D visualtisations for submission to the planning department.
  • Katrina is planning a trip to France for a garden design consultation.  The clients property is located in rural Normandy, amongst a patchwork of fields.
  • We have been working on getting the new gardensbypost.com site ready, our graphic designer has sent us some illustrations to approve. The image depicts the step-by-step process of a postal garden design.
  • There is one place remaining on the ’3D Google Sketchup and 2D Layout Drawing Course’ for November at Earth Designs HQ.  During this course students are introduced to the extensive capabilities of this software.

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "

"Agree with you Graham, we have a client with a long run of Laurel which we only cut once a year mid june and have done for over 20 years, the client is fussy with a capital F ! It's a superb evergreen hedge which is bomb proof.

"Disagree there!  I maintain a site with a couple of of large laurel hedges and one cut in July suffices and keeps it looking nice.  Agree.... looks nasty immediately after cutting but quickly perks up so you don't notice the cut leaves.  Pretty much…"
