They look like the gaping bloody jaws of an alien monster, but this is actually a carnivorous plant which has evolved to capture insects.
The new flesh eating hybrid has been created by US based horticulturalist Matthew Kaelin, and named after H.R. Giger, the Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor and set designer who created the terrifying creature in Ridley Scott’s Alien films.
