Downing Street gardeners go on strike over pay and conditions

Gardeners with responsibility for 10 Downing Street have gone on strike today overs changes to their pay conditions and other work practicves.

GMB members employed by OCS to maintain Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park, The Green Park, Grosvenor Square, Downing Street and Brompton Cemetery in London went on strike over OCS's move from weekly to monthly pay in a manner detrimental to staff without agreement and on a number of other issues such as non-payment of a living wage.
