At Bosbigal Landscape Supplies located in Truro Cornwall, we supply
Landscapers and Gardeners with Landscape products.
On the 30th April 2013 we were approached by Matthew Enfield of Glebe Landscaping, Laddock, Cornwall. He requested to open up an account with us and this was approved on the 9th May 2013 with a credit limit of £1000. Products were supplied in May, June and July 2013 and the Account was not paid. Having taken the matter to the County Court on the 2nd October 2013, judgement was made against Mr Enfield, having not made any attempt to pay the £1110 he owed. We instructed Bailiffs and he presented a document to say he was made bankrupt on the 7th MAY 2013(case 127 of 2013) see www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk
The law is quite clear that anyone obtaining credit over £500 has to inform the Company they are Bankrupt, this was not done in this instance.
We started our Landscape Business 9 years ago, but before that I spent 30 years as a Detective investigating serious crime and it is quite clear what has happened here and no matter how much you check on your customers there will always be a surprise. Clearly Mr Enfield of Glebe Landscaping has crossed the line.
