Building a garden design brief

Building a garden design brief

Have you ever found yourself in the situation where a prospective landscaping client doesn'r really know what they want you to build?

We landscapers can build pretty much anything - but we need to know what the client has in their head.  A vague sweep of the arm with a "put the patio there" isn't really helpful.  Which is where garden design comes in to play.

Getting the clients to agree to a clearly drawn garden design layout means that you KNOW what they are expecting. And when you can manage the client's expectations they are less likely to be disappointed.

The garden design brief questionnaire on the My Garden Design website is a  list of questions to ask your client before you commission a garden design.  It's totally free, there's no obligation to request a design and it will help your client's (and you) to think carefully about what they need in their new garden. Complete it online while you are with the clients, or download it for them to answer in their own time.

Check out this article for a more detailed explaination, and then go online to have a play
