Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Lancashire, has recently undergone an amazing transformation following a £16.5 million redevelopment project designed by Gilling Dod and delivered by construction firm, Wilmott Dixon.
This redevelopment scheme has meant that the hospital has been granted with a modern new 1,122 space multi-storey car park and entrance with four retail units. Prior to the work commencing in 2013, the Assistant Director of Clinical Support and Facilities Management at the Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Ian McManus, explained that the new car park will produce an over-supply of space, which will be useful as the hospital continues to expand. Mr McManus noted that 300-350 of the staff at Blackpool Victoria had to deal with regular complaints from the community as the hospital simply could not facilitate space for staff and visitors.
The landscape of the impressive healthcare facility has been created with Tobermore's Sienna block paving in sparkling Silver and was installed by the brilliant Westoak. Sienna works perfectly with the stunning new building entrance at Blackpool Victoria to produce a modern look. Sienna encompasses a coarse textured surface, exposing glittering granite aggregates which provide a distinctive appearance similar to natural granite. This product guarantees to create a sophisticated look for any commercial or domestic application.
