Win a holiday in France

If you are entered into the 'win a French holiday' competition you are probably sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the announcement of the winner. I have to hold my hand up and admit that there is a problem with the competition - Sarah, who's image I linked to (because the picture was so good) has decided to pull the picture - maybe Sarah didn't like all of the limelight - I don't know? I now realise that I should have linked to a picture of my own so that I had full control over the content but it is always easy to be wise after the event. But, all is not lost and one of our Landscape Juice members will win that week in France in early June 2009 but it will require one last bit of work on your part. Just leave your name as a comment below this post to re-register your interest and I will do the draw by midday on Tuesday 5th August 2008. If you would rather send me a private message to re-register then that is OK too - Competition entry in the title. I am so sorry for this mishap and I hope I can be forgiven in the fullness of time!

  • I scoured all the posts looking for that photo & never found it. So I posted a comment on the only one with photos of terracotta & greenery, which also had the most comments. Oh well...at least it got me very familiar with the site. OF COURSE I want to be entered in the contest. Thanks for clearing up the mystery.
  • hope there will be more sunshine in France than here in Devon. Just isnt right working in waterproofs in August!
  • we've all done something like it. At least you have made one up like the tv programmes.
  • Most definately would like the chance to win any sort of holiday
  • Hi - would very much like to be included in the draw, really need a holiday.
  • Ditto us please
  • yes count me in
  • You know it! I certainly would still love to check out France :)

"Agree with you Graham, we have a client with a long run of Laurel which we only cut once a year mid june and have done for over 20 years, the client is fussy with a capital F ! It's a superb evergreen hedge which is bomb proof.
As to this so called…"

"Disagree there!  I maintain a site with a couple of of large laurel hedges and one cut in July suffices and keeps it looking nice.  Agree.... looks nasty immediately after cutting but quickly perks up so you don't notice the cut leaves.  Pretty much…"

"That's pretty much my thinking, but I am seeing them more and more. Mostly at expensive new builds. Mostly people with very limited gardening experience wanting an immediate finished product. "

"Yes 5' actual instant shaped hedging is very expensive, but if that's what he wants he'll have to pay for it.  A good compromise is use individual plants- you could use 1.5m, but 1.8 or 2m plants would probably be bushier, and by trimming to height…"
