You'll have noticed some weird happenings in the last 12 hours or so.
For the last month or so I have been working on moving LJN from version 2.00 to version 3.00. Last evening was the culmination of the migration process (or so it should have been).
When it came to throw the switch - so to speak - a lot of the css & html code didn't port successfully meaning a lot of manual work to put everything in place. Some of this work has to be done our end and some by Ning over in the US.
Unfortunately, because of the time difference it meant a late night for me yesterday and an early start this morning.
90% of the functionality is now as it should be. There is still an issue with the Bog business room. This is out of my control and an urgent fix has been requested from Ning.
All of the latest content is (or should be) up to date. If you notice anything out of place then please send me a message so it can be dealt with.
Why?
You're probably asking yourself why we are migrating at all?
Well, Ning will be phasing out their v2.00 offering and all Ning Networks will have to migrate to Ning v3.00 (hence why I refer to LJN 2.00 & LJN 3.00). There is not a date set for the retirement of Ning v2.00 as yet but I was confident enough, after doing much research, that Ning had developed v3.00 to a satisfactory stage, that I could make the switch.
The benefits and flexibility for the site are enormous. The first thing you'll note is that the page is screen-wide. This gives us more space to set out and display great content. The layout is also much clearer and easier to view.
Every single page can have its own layout too which gives me the flexibility of displaying the site in different ways.
The current downside is that there is no video up-loader and no events (although I believe these will come). Video can be added via any HTML editor, however.
Hope that summarises sufficiently where we are at?
Please bear with me for at least 24 hours as I check and double check content, layout and functionality. Some things, I am sure, will still cause a few glitches...but they will be dealt with.
In the meantime familiarise yourself with the layout and if you have any suggestions or questiosn then pop a message in here or send me an email/pm.
Thanks for your patience:-))
Warm regards
Phil

How would you prefer to see the front page activity?
Forum topics above or below site activity (in the centre column).
A bit of an update.
There's a still a glitch with the blog showing. There's also a bug stopping >>more photos being displayed on member profiles.
There's also a glitch with the way profile questions and corresponding answers are displaying.
Ning are working on these at the moment. Will post a further update as soon as I have further info.
As detailed above in Phil's post - there are currently issues being looked at by Ning re: the BOG ^^^^^^
There doesn't seem to be a "go to last reply" option on threads any more?
In activity Paul?
Don't know...
When you look at a thread, it says "8 replies" or "reply by Paul 3 minutes ago". It used to have "last reply": really useful when a thread gets long, or an old thread is ressurected, and you want to go straight to the last reply.
<br />
WithinIn the activity feed us the word replied. This is a URL to the reply.<br />
<br />
Threads are also organised in such a way that people can comment on a comment instead of a long list of quotes.
I've tried updating my page, looks good, can't work out how to blog or add more photos
