It's been a while since I added a new blog to the My Garden Design website, but here it is.
Several of my colleagues in the landscaping industry have expressed their frustration at domestic clients who either don't understand why they need a garden design/planting plan, or they expect plans to be included in the cost of landscaping. In other words - they don't value garden design and definitely don't want to pay for it. Reading between the lines though, I sense a third barrier to selling garden design - landscapers are too nice! They don't want to upset the clients by asking to be paid for designing a garden layout or a planting plan. Which leads to them working silly hours and actually losing money (in my world, working for free is the same thing as losing money)/
So this blog offers some tips and some confidence boosters for landscapers or garden maintenance companies who actually want to be paid for designs or who want to be able to outsource services and pass the cost on to their customers.
Please have a read - I'd welcome your feedback.

We design and build gardens do the design is an integral part of the process and the proof is in The pudding hence www.gardendesignco.co.uk
but another food related analogy is imagine baking a cake; the recipe tells you all the ingredients you need. So too does a garden design. You can guess the ingredients but who knows then how the cake will turn out
finally Landscapers and garden designers are related but not the same. They are complimentary are go hand in hand. Without a good garden design mistakes are far more likely
