John Daniel, head greenkeeper at Sand Moor Golf Club in Yorkshire, has praised Everris for helping him to maintain the stunning 18-hole course, stating that he is guaranteed a result every time he uses an Everris product.

Five miles to the North of Leeds City Centre and situated in rolling countryside lies Sand Moor Golf Club. It is has a backdrop of splendid views across the Eccup reservoir and the Yorkshire Dales. The club’s picturesque scenery thoroughly compliments the superb championship golf course which can be accredited to John and his five members of staff.

Built in 1926 and designed by local Yorkshireman Dr Alistair Mackenzie, Sand Moor currently has a full membership with approximately 600 members in all categories. The club’s complete membership is certainly testament to its commitment to provide an enjoyable and challenging experience for all golfers. To ensure this commitment is fulfilled, head greenkeeper of 14 years John, insists on using only the highest quality turf products.

“To put it simply; we use Everris products because we know that we are going to get a guaranteed result every time.

“Yes, we have used other products in the past but I’d say the level of growth on the course wasn’t consistent and we found we were getting more peaks and troughs than actual results. Now, with Everris we are getting more longevity and a more even growth pattern throughout the playing season,” he said.

Driven by innovation and inspired by nature, Everris provide solutions for grass and plants to grow greener, stronger and healthier. An absolute dedication to research and development enables the company to bring users the most technologically advanced fertilisers, nutritional programs, turf seed, growing media, and plant protection products. It is for this reason than more and more greenkeepers like John are turning to Everris.

In particular, John uses Everris’ Greenmaster range of products for Sand Moor’s greens, the ProTurf range for the tees, Rescue for the course’s surroundings and growth regulator Primo Maxx.

“We use Greenmaster products throughout the season but mainly in spring because it ensures that we will get a good start to the greens and we know there will be a consistent growth. The ProTurf products provide us with an absolutely fantastic colour on our tees and the Primo Maxx has been a great help in slowing down the growth and maintaining the pace of the ball roll on the greens. Rescue has also been a really successful product for us and has helped us remove the ryegrass from our collars and approaches.”

To help him get the best results from his Everris products, John consults technical area sales manager, Simon Hardcastle on a regular basis; a service which he values as much as the products.

“Simon has been really helpful - he’s fantastic for providing technical advice and suggesting products. If I’m unsure on what to use he’ll always provide guidance on what would be the best product for our course.

“I never feel uncomfortable about contacting him and I’m able to ring him whenever I’ve got a query.”

"Interesting but not surprised . Makes we wonder about mowing a grass verge outside a customers property and cutting the pedestrian side of a hedge which is a public right of way . "

"Yes that photo shows you would struggle to find anything less suitable to cut that particular hedge from. I have a large tripod and it only gets used several times per year, perfect for certain jobs but for day to day use more of a hindrance"

"Hi Ian,
My chooice is to scarify, overseed then top dress using Field 4 organic dressing, it's bloody brilliant.
