Nomix Dual gains approval for use on hard surfaces

[PRESS RELEASE] Nomix Dual, the unique low volume ready to use residual herbicide has now been approved for use on hard surfaces, including footpaths, roads, pavements and kerb edges. This makes it the only residual herbicide available today with approval for use on both hard and soft surfaces. This is excellent news for all amenity herbicide users, bringing benefits in terms of both resource management and compliance with new legislation. The use of Nomix Dual will save you time and money as its residual action reduces the number of herbicide applications required during the growing period. Nomix Dual delivers up to 6 months' control, combining the contact action of Glyphosate with the long lasting active Sulfosulfuron. Whilst the control of any visible weeds starts as soon as Nomix Dual is applied, the ongoing herbicidal action of Sulfosulfuron inhibits new growth. The safety of the general public, your operators and the environment is a key concern in amenity weed control today. The unique formulation of Nomix Dual provides a safer solution than many other herbicide systems, by reducing the risk of spray drift and ensuring no breathable droplets. In addition, hand held targeted weed control on hard surfaces reduces run-off and water pollution. Using Nomix Dual as part of the Total Droplet Control (TDC) system provides the peace of mind that you are totally compliant with all requirements of Best Practice and the Sustainable Use Directive. Mark Phillips, Managing Director of Nomix Enviro, commented, ‘Hard surface approval for Nomix Dual is excellent news for all herbicide users in the amenity industry. Its unique formulation makes this the ideal product to use in public areas and on hard surfaces because it combines low levels of active ingredients with targeted low volume application and a non-hazardous formulation. Nomix is fully committed to reducing the risks associated with using pesticides in the amenity sector. Our responsibilities for maintaining water quality and protecting the environment are of paramount importance to us.’ For further information on how Nomix Dual can deliver up to 6 months' weed control on hard surfaces, please call the Nomix Technical Helpline on 01264 388056 or email nomixenviro@frontierag.co.uk http://www.nomixenviro.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=122:nomix-dual&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18

"I have a 6ft pair of Niwakis, wish i’d had them years before I did. I initially got the 8fts and immediately realised they would be a pain for the majority of hedges I used to cut. I think they are brilliant just make sure they are seated properly.…"

"I wouldn't cut a hedge without one. Anything over 6' you should get with 3 adjustable legs, otherwise they can be unstable if you lean - but positioned correctly they are the only way.

"Yes had that scenario where you can't reach a fiddly bit no matter what ladder and have to balance on the apex of a shed roof or do best job painstakingly with a long reach pole pruner . "

"I'm very wary of these tripod ladders, I took a life changing fall from the top of a 12ft tripod. Now I only use them myself with great care. The issue is that they are very unstable at the top if you lean to either side, and they go with no…"

"the tripods are good but in some scenarios the wide base and the fact the 3rd leg has to be placed some distance away from the step part for stability makes this large foot print impractical eg when cutting hedge behind a shed or greenhouse with…"

"Tripods are better than any other ladder that's a fact. You can cut hedges that are lower than the ladder but it is more awkward, I have a 6ft amd a 12 foot been using both for the last 15yrs and haven't come stuck yet. Believe me once you've had…"
