An Oxford landscaping firm is growing a successful business as a LazyLawn licensee, after the area’s demand for artificial grass leapt by 20% in just 12 months.

David Bickford of Harmony Lawns Ltd, which is based in Carterton, has become the only firm with a license to install LazyLawn products in Oxfordshire and Berkshire, having noticed a surge in demand from home owners wanting a no mess, low maintenance lawn.

LazyLawn is the UK’s biggest artificial grass brand and is the latest must-have for the garden thanks to famous fans such as Alan Titchmarsh and Amanda Holden, and big names, including Selfridges, JD Wetherspoon and the Big Brother house, choosing its products.

David and his team, who have quickly built up a portfolio of successful projects, are now on a mission to help more people enjoy quality time in their gardens by joining the LazyLawn revolution.

David said: "It’s very exciting to be part of the LazyLawn licensee network and to be involved with a product I feel so passionately about.

"Since becoming a licensee, the local demand has been incredible, the majority of customers I have completed installations for go on to recommend LazyLawn to a friend or relative and as a result I’m now completing three to four installations a week.

"It’s the high quality of the grass, which looks and feels authentic, and the high standard of the installation that has struck a chord with customers.

"Before I became a licensee, I was on the verge of setting up my own paving company when people started asking me to quote for artificial lawns. I did some research and was amazed both by how popular artificial lawns were becoming and the range of products from LazyLawn.

"I was very impressed with how long the company has been established, the quality of the products and the popularity of LazyLawn, and thought this was a company I really wanted to work with."

With a background in landscaping and relevant qualifications, David signed up for LazyLawn’s intensive training course in order to learn the appropriate skills and meticulous eye for detail required by all of the firm’s licensees.

LazyLawn is a member of Checkatrade and an associate member of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

The Oxfordshire team is also part of the Buy With Confidence Scheme, where local businesses are vetted and approved by Trading Standards.

David has now established LazyLawn as the go-to product for Oxfordshire home owners who want a perfect garden without putting in the hard work.

David said: "It’s interesting how diverse LazyLawn’s customers are. The main reason for going artificial is that it’s low maintenance and many of our customers comment on how nice it is to not have to mow the lawn at the weekend.

"For others, it’s the no mud, no mess promise that attracts them to our products and they are delighted to find they no longer have muddy footprints in the house from children or pets who have been playing in the garden."
