The Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIH) has announced that it will be hosting its annual conference at SALTEX 2015 on 4 November at the NEC, Birmingham.

The CIH is the authoritative organisation representing those professionally engaged in horticulture in the UK and Ireland and its annual conference provides a fantastic opportunity to receive an insight into the challenges, trends and strategic thinking of horticultural leaders.

Entitled ‘Leadership, Innovation and Growth’, the conference will be held in nearby Gallery Suites 15 and 16 bringing together six industry leaders to deliver dynamic and inspiring presentations on fruit, vegetables, protected ornamentals, botanic gardens, garden centres and green spaces.

The six highly respected speakers will highlight their leadership challenges and growth success stories of managing commercial and public enterprises in the 2015 economy. They will demonstrate the innovation required to capture and retain clients and members in all horticultural sectors against the challenging background of greater discretionary spend and diminishing budgets.

The CIH’s decision to choose SALTEX as the venue for its annual conference is testament to the diversity and depth of the exhibition. With over 250 exhibitors across a broad range of sectors combined with an all-encompassing education programme which caters for all, the CIH is also joined by a number of other professional bodies supporting SALTEX 2015.

The British and International Golf Greenkeepers' Association (BIGGA), the Amenity Forum, the Sport and Play Construction Association (SAPCA), the Arb Association, the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI), the Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH), the Parks Alliance, the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), the Association of Play Industries (API), the Crop Protection Association (CPA) and the British Agricultural & Garden Machinery Association (BAGMA) have all confirmed their presence at the show.

Andrew Gill C Hort FCIHort, President, believes that SALTEX provides the ideal platform to reach the CIH’s extensive network of members.

“The Chartered Institute of Horticulture is delighted to collaborate with the Institute of Groundsmanship for the first time by holding its conference at SALTEX this year. The new location for SALTEX at the NEC provides a central and accessible venue for all of our delegates, who will also have the added value of time to visit the exhibition. We have a first class line-up of speakers and it promises to be an excellent day open to both members and non-members.”

Geoff Webb, CEO of the IOG, is equally upbeat about the conference taking place at SALTEX.

“We are pleased to host the CIH at our new SALTEX event. When we announced the show’s move to the NEC, the institute moved quickly to engage with SALTEX and its presence is further evidence of a new momentum and added value that the CIH Conference will bring to this year’s SALTEX,” he said.

Well one clear advantage they have, they stand up by themselves.…"
