Artificial lawn installation Aldershot

Samples were shown to the clients last week and they decided on using NAMGRASS Green Meadow. The new lawn was picked up on Saturday from the UK offices of Namgrass and we commenced the install yesterday.

As you can appreciate the client having two dogs and small children found it impossible to have a lawn, it was re-turfed a number of times over the last few years and that they have now given up on having a lawn!

We arrived at the clients premises for 9AM and unloaded the artificial lawn before heading off to Jewsons to pick up the materials for the sub base.

By 10AM we had cleared the old lawn (area approx. 52m2) and the first geotextile weed membrane laid, followed by the MOT1 sub base which was compacted with a wacker plate and blinded off with a thin layer of sharp sand. The top level of geotextile weed membrane was laid followed by the artificial lawn.

The lawn was roughtly cut into position and left to settle in the sun.

It was decided that it would be best to leave the lawn to "settle" and allow the creases to flatten out and returned at 11:30AM today to complete the installation. The two pieces of lawn were butted up and glued followed by final trimming of the edges.

Client was happy so was the dogs! The clients couldn't believe the transformation and commented how much bigger the garden looked.Job done and off to mow some real lawns.

  • Great post m8

I must admit iam begining to like the look of the " fake turf "

If I might be so bold as to ask how much is the lawn, also will it fade?
  • Martin - The retail price for Green Meadow is currently £19.95 Incl of VAT which is very good value for money.

The new lawn will loose the shine after a day or two in the sun but will not fade for 10 years at least!
  • if only................;-)

just done a real one with 'sempervirons' fine , hard wearing turf from twickenham.
i like turf but it really was 'sexy'.....

"Plus it doesn't matter if we all know plants are better value. I'd make the point of this to the customer but if they want trough grown at the extra cost that's their choice I'd just do it"

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "
