Freelancers, the gig economy, the self-employed army; whatever you call them, the numbers are on the rise. Workers are embracing greater flexibility and control over their hours by working as freelancers who dictate their own hours rather than submit to the grind of the 9-5.
But whether they work via platforms such as Uber or Etsy, or as consultants within specialist industries, there’s growing concern that these workers are missing out on financial security.
