The National Gardens Scheme celebrates the great variety of its gardens during the third National Gardens Festival Weekend on the 6 and 7 June.
The Festival is set to be the country’s biggest celebration of garden visiting this year, and will see 400 gardens across England and Wales throw open their gates to the public to raise over a quarter of a million pounds for charity.
TV presenter, gardener and NGS President Joe Swift said: "One of the great things about the National Gardens Scheme is the sheer diversity of its gardens. Big or small, formal or informal, modern or traditional – there’s a garden to suit absolutely all tastes.
"So whether you’re a seasoned garden visitor or a first time supporter, I urge you to stop by a couple of gardens over the Festival Weekend and join in the celebration of the great variety of gardens."
- This unique festival of great gardens includes:
- Urban gardens
- Formal country gardens
- Designer gardens
- Herb gardens
- Village and city ‘group gardens’
- Artists’ gardens
- Children’s gardens
- and many more...
Some gardens may have special activities taking place, such as art exhibitions or live music. Nearly all offer delicious teas and cakes.
