A man is believed to have died after a tractor fell into a Northumberland quarry.
Specialist hazardous rescue paramedics, police and firefighters raced to the scene at Harden Quarry nine miles north west of the town of Rothbury, just before 10.40am on Wednesday.
The Great North Air Ambulance was also launched to the report of a vehicle having caught fire after falling 50ft, but was stood down before it reached the Lafarge Tarmac owned site.
