The Hard Landscaping Show 2010

I'm very pleased to announce the launch of The Hard Landscaping Show 2010.

We are delighted to say that the show is being supported by Landscape Juice and LJN and for those of you to whom Phil Voice remains a "virtual" presence, the show will be an ideal opportunity for you to meet him in the flesh as there will be a LJ/LJN stand manned by Phil himself!

We want to make this show a first, not just in this industry but a real first,in that we would like to develop the event interactively : what this means is that we are encouraging you to post your suggestions and ideas of what you would like to see and hear - what products, demos, seminars, specific brands, anything that you feel would enhance your visit to the show next March.

We feel that whilst the show direction is clear from it's title, this does not preclude the inclusion of items such as lawnmowers and other maintenance equipment as long as the products shown are aimed domestic and commercial rather than grounds management (already well served by Saltex).

There is perhaps a feeling that has built up over the years that the Hardscapes side of the business has been treated like a poor relation by leading events and we feel it deserves the limelight - we also believe that Landscape professionals do not make their design and purchasing decisions exclusively based on what is on the shelves at the local garden centre or builders merchants, you want to see and try new products and to innovate - it's our job to build The Hard Landscaping Show around your needs and requirements.

As I don't want to abuse Phil's hospitality and post too much about the show here on LJN, please also stop by on our website, www.hardlandscapingshow.co.uk and participate in our show blog.

I look forward to meeting you all at the show!

Best,
Steven

It should be a cracking event.

Just one question Steve - Any chance of getting avocado with the bacon roll and coffee :-)
  • Graeme, it's clear that you will be adding some considerable sophistication to the event, so I'll even arrange for a "drizzle of balsamic vinegar based jus" onto yours.

Not only that, there will definitely be some artificial grass on display - what more can you possibly need?

  • Thanks Steve - Life doesn't get any better!
  • Hi Steve,

Any chance of getting Google (SketchUp) to do a stand at your show. I think it would be a bit of a 'coup' if you did!
  • Hi David,

I've not looked at this before, I'll take a gander and see what could be done.

    Cheers,
    Steven

An alternative (or as well) - talk to Tamsin Slatter in respect of a Vectorworks demo.
  • Looks very interesting, many thanks Phil, will do.

  • I have had a quick look at the site with a view to exhibiting but at first glance it looks rather expensive compared to Eastgro and the Southern growers.
  • What are you thinking of exhibiting, Phil?

How much (beyond as little as possible!!) are you looking to pay for how many square metres?

As a general rule, specialist niche events taking place indoors in the off season (best timing for trade visitors who will be hoping to be busy in spring and summer and not have time to attend shows) will cost more to exhibit at simply because they cost more to run and in general horticultural events have a completely different structure.

    Best,
    Steven

  • Hi Steven
We manufacture wrought iron plant supports, arches, gazebos, arbours, obelisks, etc. They are used by the trade as they are robust and simple.
At Eastgro we pay £200+VAT for a 2.5x2m stand, I day show that includes free parking and lunches for two people, quite often, additionally we are given as exhibitors free cups of tea and coffee at our stands. I exhibit whenever I can, this year the date clashed with our annual holiday so we had to give it a miss. Southern growers is a bit more expensive than Eastgro but still prety good value we have only done that show once because of logistical considerations but will try it again in the future.
