Have you already decided you want a chipper shredder and want to know which one? If you're processing the waste unless you love burning fuel you'll be double handling the material and then stood there whilst it shreds it, or you'll need someone to load it all the time. If you've got someone to be loading it all the time the machine needs to be fast enough to be able to keep up with someone so they're not just stood around. So it might not even work out more efficient.

  • See the other thread, it covers the same thing.

Best advice is try a hire machine to see if you get on with it. I couldn't.

    • I agree. Hire one for a week to see how it pan out. Be useful for others to find out you got on with it.

    • how did you manage that?? to much fed into it?

    • Slight over kill for what I need
  • I'm trying to rent an eliet as it shreds seen someone try to chip a laurel hedge reduction with Timberwolf portable chipper 13/75g I think it was just clogged with all the leafs
  • Hss hire them for £135 a week but website says out of stock doubt eliet will demo me one haha
    • Bearing in mind the usual recommendation that you buy what your local guy sells, and keeps spares for....

Would your local dealer lend you one as a demo?

      • I'll try Broadfield very much doubt it there w box shifter all stuff they have is shiny.
  • I know a lot of people don't like Chinese equipment but I am using a hornet 4 inch chipper . Has saved me that much in waste and time cost . Produce really good wood chip which are dispose of at my sites . No more carry loads of full builders bags in the van . Brought the chipper over in Gloucester spares are readily available price around £1800.00
