"It's a long time since I did my 'Chapter 8' training but ideally working roadside warning signs 100ft down the road plus plenty of cones.  Now I don't do that myself nowadays but always a high vis & cones. It really depends how busy the road is &…"

"even worse these days with the proliferation of near-silent electric cars. plus gangs of bicyclists who seem to use the public roads as their personal race track. Even using a relatively quiet cordless hedge trimmer they can catch you unawares. I…"

"I've a very similar job on my books. The high vis and warning signs or cones are a given. My advice to you would be to be careful yourself, I'm presuming you wi have ear defenders and safety glasses, these restrict your hearing and vision and it can…"

"Definately go for the carbon fibre extension - I've been using mine for near to 10 years - spread that extra £ 50 over that time and it makes no difference !!
My arms get tired after a trimming a large hedge, so it would be worse with the extra…"

Peter Davis replied to Peter Davis's discussion Which chain ?
"Yes I tried a 3/8 on my old KM & I agree.  I was just thinking of the benefits of running the same size on both machines.  I also want to get the Stihl 2 in 1 sharpener.  You have to order these for the chain size. It looks like you can just drop in…"

"I don’t think anyone has driven over as many dead people as I have. It’s an odd claim to fame.
My aim is to stay on the right side [top side] of the turf for as long as possible.
It's good to have ambition."

"When you get that extra couple of feet on the pole and using for longer periods of time that weight saving is well worth the extra cost to me."

Dave Colton replied to Peter Davis's discussion Which chain ?
"I prefer the 1/4 as I find the 3/8 quite aggressive as it pulls into the cut causing the machine to bog down and slowing the cut. The 3/8 cut quicker with some omph behind it but didn't leave as clean a cut."

"would depend on what bar is fitted, usually the stihl bar itself will have printed on it specifications as to what chain it needs, number of drive links etc etc"

"As we have said before, you should never disclose or discuss hourly rates with [potential] clients. An hourly rate can sound high to the client as they have no understanding of how we contractors work.
So it should always be a fixed price per…"

I have a Stihl 200T  top handle saw & I am about to buy a new HT-KM chainsaw attachment for the Kombi.  I read that both can use 1/4 or 3/8 chains.  Has anyone tried both to compare them ?
