I read from your profile that you set up your own landscape gardening business many years ago.
I was made redundant last year and after much soul searching decided on a complete career change and moved into hoticulture. I am studying for an HND in Garden Design and set up a garden maintenance business a few months ago. Client take up has been slow, partly I suspect because of the time of year but I am keen to rectify this by advertising etc. Are there any tips you can offer on starting up and also how did you obtain commercial contracts. I seem to be in the chicken and egg stage where clients expect experience and qualifications even before I've gained a toe hold.
