Water cabbage

I have a customer with a running stream coming from a golf course, it runs through her garden and onto a neighbours property which is a 200sqm pond, and runs further on....She wants rid of the water cabbage which has invaded her stretch of stream. It's been dug out by the root and keeps coming back.Could we try stem injection?I have my PA1 & 6 & 6AW.

Matt, I think of water cabbage as a floating weed - do you mean Gunnera? Huge great leaved plants found in bogs, etc?

If so then yes you can try stem injection direct into the rhizome with a correct aquatic label glyphosate - (as long as your PA6AW was before Jan 2015). However same results from Irish study found stem cut and paint was equally effective, limits contamination into water and use less product so win-win (add blue dye too).

Do it now rather than wait for spring. Hope that helps
