Valuing a landscaped space - live discussion Wednesday 15th April 2009 - Forum

Come and join in the conversation this coming Wednesday on the Landscape Juice Network. Garden spaces have taken on a new role since the financial crisis has enveloped the world. We hear often that the garden and landscaping industry will benefit from this crisis as families focus on their close environment rather than look further afield. What can we do in the landscaping, gardening and design world to benefit as an industry from this focus? Has there already been a shift and who has felt the benefit? Is growing vegetables a fad or a genuine new trend? Can you put a monetary value on a garden space? Has landscaping as a garden art now taken a back seat? Can we do more to promote our industry? Please join us for a live chat this Wednesday the 15th April at 7pm GMT. Please feel free to discuss the topics or add any new ones in this forum in the meantime. I will be sending out site messages today, Tuesday and Wednesday as a reminder. We have close to 500 members now so it would be great to see as many of you there as possible. I will post the transcript of the chat into this forum after the event.

This event will very much be an informal discussion moderated by myself.

I would very much encourage anyone who works or benefits from the landscaping industry to attend to at least observe.

I will pull all of the important points out of the conversation after the event and add it as a post to Landscape Juice.

Hi Graeme

Not a problem and thanks for asking.

If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the site screen you will see a green icon that says 'chat' .

If you hover over the icons you will see that an advisory message comes up. Click on one of these options. You can pop out a full independent chat screen or a small chat screen (and see who is on-line).

Hope this helps but do not hesiatate to get in touch if you need any more help.

Got it - Only works if I click on the far right hand Icon. By the way I use Firefox as my browser. I can finally see people in the pop up box.

It will depend on the weather which is doing the opposite of what was forecast and has been really good for the past three days. I am making the most of since we have a backlog after I broke my foot.
