  The best book i know for the info, plus added stuff is 'Promoting Nature in Cities and Towns' by Malcolm Emery, (1986). Bit dated now I know but is brilliant.

  George, I will forward on some info to you with regards the eco and environmental worth of particular species. There is a quite a bit of bumf and literature to wade through but i will get it to you shortly.

  firstly wow thank you - a lot of free advice.
  
  We are not actually bidding for the contracts, we are registered agent for the FC and as such the clients have no choice but to come to us, but what you lead onto is highly relevant. If you do take the leap into SE would you be interested in some work basically just doing what you have done.
  
  I know also of similar work which is being done in North devon, where they are too struggling to come to grips with such bumf.
  
  I am at the end of the day only trained to deal with silvicultural matters, this is a whole new playing field and one where someone like yourself could really make a living.

  Hi, having read your latest forum I am intrigued by what you do. We have to submit a lot of documentation nowadays as and when we submit grant schemes to the Forestry Commission or DEFRA. As part of a growing emphasis on public access and remits to ensure that new schemes can be made available to all, particularly in ensuring ethnic minorities and people from deprived areas are included in our thought process. As, and I think I can speak for all of us in this industry at present, we have little knowledge of how to do this, or what is required even? which is a huge stumbling block even for the most altruistic of schemes -ie even in public spaces we are failing miserably to cope with such standards. Is this a subject you could deal with? As such the scope for consultation, bridging the gap between land industry and the needs of deprived population is huge and we would certainly take up your services as frankly we are flapping like a fish out of water with much of what is coming through the quango channels at the moment.
