Hedgemaster rule in my book....these look very dodgy if at the top with a hedgeclipper

  • I had one. The key word is HAD

Different brand! Do not try and do anything sideways on it.
  • These would scare me to death.
Love my Nawaki pruning ladder, tripod design, really stable, great on slopes, double rungs for added foot stability and a great price to boot

Don't be to hasty to dismiss this style of ladder totally mate, I own three types of ladder, a Hailo ladder just like the one on your Amazon site but with a curved support strut and I own a henchman tripod 10ft and a workware tripod 8ft, I have fallen off my tripod ladders several times , I've never fallen off my Hailo ladder in 20 years of gardening. Tripod ladders are good, light etc but if you over stretch on one or lean out the wrong way when your near the top, then you will be on your backside wondering what just happened, just my opinion mate... Cheers
  • I use a set similar to these all the time, mine is 3 x 10ft. I'm never much higher than around the 10ft height though have used them occasionally higher. I made a 3rd leg for mine with spikes on the feet to hold it in against the hedge when working on un-even ground or when i am reaching too far.

    • am always a bit wary of some of the 3 legged Jake the peg with his extra leg style designs out there...for big hedges where due to a lack of support it is impossible to use a conventional ladder resting against it, i have a massive aluminium industrial warehouse step ladder with a 3m platform height, paid £25 for it on ebay

  • For the big stuff I picked up a 14ft henchman tripod ladder, fantastic, stable, light and with 3 adjustable legs very safe in uneven ground. My other favourite which I picked up on Gumtree is the original Little giant ladder made in the USA. Great for hedges up to 8-10 ft and very strong and stable.
