I use the Stihl FS94 with a loop handle................ very light and the most powerful of their 2mix engine range. Has been very reliable in the 2 years I've been using it.
Hi Graham,
what's it like for vibration when you've been using it for a while as the stats show it to be quite high
I've never noticed vibrations at all..................... there again, I only use it for about 10 minutes max.
I know it's not what your looking at but This bit of kit is amazing !!! very little vibration, quiet and light !!!

Just to advise that I mow 12 to 15 domestic lawns every day and use a bent shaft strimmer for all the edging work.
I own a Stihl straight shaft strimmer and see people using them for edging but can not understand why anyone would want to use such a heavy cumbersome bit of kit to achieve a precise finish.
I am sure one can become very skilled but to me it just seems like hard work.
Up until a few months ago I have used the 4 stroke Honda bent shaft strimmer. Nice clean smooth running tool but decided to change to a Stihl FS50 as its a little lighter. (getting old, no am old) Not sure about the vibes but as its only 5 to 10 mins at a time I was more interested in the weight.
The FS 50 seems like a good tool so far but had to enlarge the holes in the strimmer head to accept 2.4mm line. Not sure why it's only designed to accept 2mm line. I have a friend who has been using an FS 40 or 45 bent shaft strimmer, not sure which, for over 2 years enlarged to take 2.4mm and had no adverse effects.
Stihl FS 50, paid £168.00. You can have these delivered from any Stihl dealer as opposed to the collection due to the fact that it's not designed to accept a rigid steel blade.
In truth there is no one machine which is ideally suited to all strimming tasks. I use the Stihl cordless ones with great results but had to bring the Hitachi petrol back pack one out of retirement the other day to tackle an area which is strimmed literally once a year. Horses for courses.
Hi All,
Decided to give the Husqvarna 525RJX a go based on its light weight, very low vibes and impressive 1.3 hp - ordered online £356 with free 48hr delivery
will post a review when ive used it for a couple of weeks.
I still have one running Tanaka TBC 270 strimmer and a stihl 130 backpack brushcutter for the tougher jobs.
Thanks for all replies!
Andy
stats on that look amazing :
so much so i cant believe the vibration levels are right - over half the equiv sthil model ?
tbh i find the vibration levels very vague and misleading -- could this one be measuring vibration levels differently to sthil- at that weight and power its incredibly low -- its on par with the 800 quid max low vibration models -- in fact its almost as good as the battery models ?
Just seems impossibly good ?
