Stihl HL100 is what i use, wouldnt consider any other makes.
i have an echo hca265es. i'm pleased with it, i use it as much as my regular hedge trimmer, but it doesn't get heavy use. it's less powerfull than i would like, but goes through most stuff quite happily.
afraid i can't compare it to any other machine as it's the only one i've actually used.
The kawasaki is slightly shorter, slightly higher vibrations but is a much faster and lighter machine to use.
It's the one that the guys pick every-time over the stihls.
I'm after some new long reach cutters with weight being my greatest concern.
I own the Shindaiwa multi tool (long reach hedge trimmer / chainsaw), I have found it to be very good. Echo now owns them, a lot of the parts can be sourced from them...
why are the blades on long reach trimmers only ever 60cm? i'd kill for one twice that length for wide hedges.
I think then the dynamic weight gets silly and horribly unbalanced, also the need for a higher torque and therefore bulkier and heavier gearbox.
